Iulia Neamtiu, MD, MS, PhD

Iulia Adina Neamtiu is a medical doctor (MD), Environmental Health Specialist with a PhD in Occupational Medicine. She is currently teaching environmental health and industrial hygiene at Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca as an Associate Professor. Dr. Iulia Neamţiu has previously coordinated a national project included in the national research, development and innovation plan 2007-2013 – “Complex Program for Assuring the Quality and Security of Environment in Specific Rural Areas Polluted with Pesticides and Heavy Metals with Impact Upon the Quality of Life” (MESAR), being also involved in several other international projects, in collaboration with University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), investigating the environmental exposure to lead and the arsenic exposure via drinking water and spontaneous pregnancy loss, and also, European projects such as -“Schools Indoor Pollution and Health: Observatory Network in Europe (SINPHONIE)”. Dr. Neamţiu has experience in the effects on human health and exposure to toxics in the environment.
